ACCEPTING BRICKLAYER APPRENTICE APPLICATIONS
Apr 03, 2017
Become an Apprentice Bricklayer

The District Council Training Center is currently accepting applications for our Bricklayer Pre-Apprentice Program. Documents needed with application are a valid Driver's License, a birth certificate, Social Security Card, $20.00 application fee which helps defray the cost of the aptitude test.  Also, high school diploma or GED is not required but recommended.

This is a scholarship program provided by the Bricklayers and Allied Craftworkers Union—there is no charge. Applicants will be required to attend an orientation meeting, and then take an aptitude test. Those who pass the test will be interviewed; and combined scores from the test and interview will determine the people who will be offered a position in the next class. You will then be required to submit to a drug screen. If you are accepted into the pre-apprenticeship program, initial classes are 40 hours a week for ten weeks. At the end of that time, you will join the local union and find a job with one of our signatory contractors. This is the beginning of your apprenticeship. Your work hours, as well as class attendance, will determine your progress from apprentice to journey worker. During the remainder of your apprenticeship, you will be at our facility for 144 hours of training each year for continuing training.

We accept applications year around. You can complete an application in our office at any time Monday thru Thursday between the hours of 8:30 AM and 3:00 PM. If you have any questions or need additional information, call the Training Center at (630) 953-0835
